The project

Some journeys begin with a simple decision. For cellist Jakob Koranyi, it was to stop flying.

The Green Tour is cellist Jakob Koranyi's ongoing commitment to touring across Europe entirely by train, by road, and sometimes by bicycle. It is not a symbolic gesture but a genuine rethinking of what a musician's life on the road can look like, and what it costs the planet when it does not.

I am set to direct a documentary following Jakob on the Green Tour, capturing a journey where sustainability is not the backdrop but the whole point. Along the way, overnight train compartments and slow cross-border journeys create space for the kind of encounters that never happen in airport business lounges, chance meetings with strangers, unhurried conversations, a different rhythm altogether. A project to showcase that how you get there matters as much as where you play.
